Student Adoption and Effectiveness of Flipped Classroom Implementation for Process Simulation Class

A flipped classroom (FC) teaching approach offers a personalized learning environment for the learners to study course using pre-recorded material prior in-class session. The synchronous sessions are then dedicated knowledge confirmation and activities. Although this technique is considered promising, learners’ acceptance of FC skill-based courses conducted entirely via open distance (ODL) has yet be assessed in Malaysia. Thus, aims evaluate approach's effectiveness student readiness during ODL. questionnaire was used assess students’ adoption overall implementation FC. Results show that students who underwent gave better performance their course. In fact, 39.29% managed score A- compared 19.82% went conventional delivery. Regarding adoption, 100% surveyed agreed video assisted them preparing class. Furthermore, they were able prepare simulation before next class at end semester, 96.154% first 4 weeks.
